Mischievous 'lil Elfie!

When the kids came down this morning, of course the first thing they did was look to see if Elfie was still in his marshmallow bath.
He was gone and so was the card that Kendyl had left next to the bowl for Santa! She was very tickled over the thought that Elfie had taken it with him to give to Santa. Now the fun of searching for Elfie could begin. Believe it or not, it took both of the kids way longer than I thought it would to find him.
I figured the toilet paper trailing from the bathroom and up the tree would be an instant give away, but apparently they didn't notice that right off. It only took a few minutes though before they found him.

When I mentioned what a little mischievous elf that Elfie was, Kendyl stuck up for him saying that he wasn't. He just wanted something soft to sit on because the tree is prickly!

Elfie is back!!

Elfie was a little late coming back to us this year. He arrived yesterday morning on Dec 3rd. The kids were so happy to see him! They had been asking about him since Thanksgiving. When Kendyl came downstairs for school, it took her awhile to notice him.

When she saw him laying there in his marshmallow bath she just cracked up!

Ashton also thought it was pretty funny!

Kendyl was so excited that Elfie was back that she made a card for Santa when she got home from school. She left it right next to Elfie so that he could make sure he took it to give to Santa that night.

Introducing Elfie Sneakins, aka "Elfie"

Our Elf on the Shelf arrived for the first time at our house last Thanksgiving morning which was in 2011. I believe that Santa thought that that was the right time to send a little elf to our house. See, the kids' Grandma whom had lived with us since before either of the younger kids were born, had passed away the day before Thanksgiving leaving a heavy feeling in everyone's hearts. Elfie was just the thing to cheer everyone up! He arrived all wrapped up pretty in his box with a nice letter from Santa to the kids. After reading the book the kids had to give him a name, and they decided on Elfie Sneakins, aka "Elfie" for short.

Elfie wasn't very active his first year with us. He did his nightly trips to the North Pole and the kids had a great time every morning trying to find him, but he never really got into anything or caused any mischief.
I have a feeling that that is going to change this year...
